Capture the memories . . .
with the 2008 Evangel
Commencement Video!
It won’t be long before Evangel graduates will be walking the line and receiving that hard-earned
diploma. This once-in-a-lifetime experience for your loved one should be preserved on DVD. Yes,
snapshots and home video are great, but why not complement these with a copy of the official
Commencement DVD produced by Evangel Cable Television?
The DVD uses five high-quality video cameras strategically placed in the auditorium to capture the
entire program plus a closeup of your graduate receiving his or her diploma. Special care is taken to provide
full coverage of this experience, including many audience shots of graduates during the ceremony. ECTV is
also offering the Baccalaureate/Awards Ceremony on video, which takes place the day before graduation.
Both videos are produced using high-quality professional cameras and include the complete audio
soundtrack from the auditorium sound system.
Do you have any relatives or special friends unable to come to Springfield for graduation? Sending them
an official Commencement Video is a great way for them to share in this event. Click on the "order" tab for easy ordering instructions.

A: The Commencement video includes the graduation ceremony in its entirety. All the music, speakers, and graduates receiving diplomas will be in the program. for the Baccalaureate DVDs. After April 30, prices go to $30 for Commencement and $18 for
Baccalaureate. After May 8, prices go up another $3 for each DVD on late orders. You can order

Q: Will my graduate be shown on these videos?
A: Yes. Each graduate will be featured with an individual shot of his/her receiving of a diploma on the Commencement video. The Bacc./Award video shows individual shots of graduates receiving awards and honors. Both videos will include numerous shots of the graduates listening, singing, and responding to the various parts of the ceremony services. The Commencement video DVD also shows many graduates celebrating outside on the lawn after the ceremony has been concluded plus behind the scenes shots before the ceremony.

Q: Can I use my own video camera instead of buying a video?
A: There is no policy against spectators shooting pictures or video provided you do not block other
people’s view or the ECTV cameras, but there are disadvantages. Shooting your own video is great for
quick shots and special moments, but does a poor job of capturing the entire service. ECTV uses many
cameras at key locations in the auditorium to get the best angle on all events. Sound is poor on
camcorders. ECTV uses the soundtrack generated by the auditorium sound system for maximum audio
quality. While shooting the event, you don't get a chance to enjoy the moment. Use your camera for
special moments during the service, but let ECTV take care of capturing the entire ceremony for you
with professional cameras and high quality audio.

Q: Can I order a copy for a relative or friend who cannot attend graduation?
A: Yes. Just tell us the address and we'll ship a video to them when we ship yours. Shipping is free for
each video ordered. Each address will need a new order form or online order.

Q: Will I be able to order a video at graduation?
A: Yes. There will be a booth set up in the auditorium lobby where you may order your video.
Ordering by April 30th saves you money on each video ordered. Payment is due when an order is
placed. Orders taken after May 8 are charged a $3.00 late fee on each DVD.

Q: During the commencement service, video is shown on the large screens. Are those the video shots we see on the commencement video?
A: What is shown on the large screens during commencement is only a part of the camera shots being
recorded for the commencement video. We use many cameras to record the ceremony, but the screens
only show the main cameras that shoot the stage. There are many more shots, especially of the grads,
in the final video. We also take video before and after the ceremony on a mobile camera.

Q: What do I do if there is problem with my DVD once I receive it?
A: ECTV cannot be responsible for any damage to media that is poor customer handling. If you
believe the problem with the DVD was not caused by misuse or damage, please call ECTV at (417)
865-2811 ext. 8410 or 8411. ECTV uses DVD-R technology to copy its DVD program. If you have an
older DVD player, the DVD you receive may not work properly. Most recent model DVD players will
play the DVD without difficulty. Nearly all new DVD players support DVD-R recording. Of course,
defective discs will be replaced similar to videos. We rarely receive a report on defective or unplayable
discs.

Q: How do I know my DVD player will play the DVDs produced by ECTV?
A: ECTV uses a DVD-R recorder for its DVD orders. DVD-R disks play in most DVD video players
and nearly all DVD-ROM players in computers. If you have a question about your DVD player, give
us a call. DVDs have a shelf life of up to 50 years or more. Nearly all new DVD players will play
DVD-R discs. If your current DVD player is incompatible, you can play the disc on any DVD-ROM
drive attached to a computer. We keep a list of DVD player models that are compatible with DVD-R.
Please call us with your DVD player manufacturer and model number for help with this issue.

Q: Am I allowed to make copies of my Commencement Video?
A: Both the Baccalaureate and Commencement Videos are copyrighted by Evangel University. To
insure the best quality audio and video, we would recommend you order additional copies made from
the digital master at ECTV rather than from your copy.

Q: Is it possible to order past commencement or baccalaureate videos?
A: Yes. We have an archive of commencement videos that goes back to 1988. Most of the
baccalaureates were also taped over the last eight years. To order a video of past Evangel graduations,
write us a note and attach it to the order form sent with this document. Please indicate which year you
need. Prices for past commencement or baccalaureate DVDs are the same as 2009 prices. We can
provide you a DVD copy of any past commencement as it was recorded on video without menus or
extra material. Commencements 2002 - 2008 had a mastered DVD that included menus and extra
material.
