KECC started in 1962 with station manager Bruce Willemsen. Prior to the establishment of KECC, Evangel and Central Bible College cooperated using CBC's station to give hands-on experience to students from both schools. In the early years, the radio station played strictly classical music. It was not until the 70's that KECC began to play a mix of top 40 songs and contemporary Christian hits. The frequencies that KECC has used in the past are 610 AM, 91.5 FM, 93.5 FM, and currently 98.1 FM. The shows can be watched on the campus cable system by turning to channel 13.
