Matt Smith

1. Job title, year in school, and major: Co-copy editor, junior, journalist

2. If you could go back in time, what era would you live in?  Or what historical event would you like to witness? Why? I wouldn't mind seeing the Coliseum in Rome during its glory days. The gladiator fights were epic. Or maybe I just like the movie, I don't know. The crowded atmosphere would be pretty amazing, though.

3. What's your hometown? Phillipsburg, Kansas. Home of the Phillipsburger.

4. What's your favorite quote? Why? Man run in front of car, get tired. Man run in back of car, get exhausted. It's funny. I like puns.

5. What kind of career do you hope to get after graduation? Website journalism would probably be my overall pick, because it involves every media.

6. Who's your favorite music artist?  DC Talk!- I grew up listening to them.

7. What was your favorite subject in school? English. I know, weird, right?

8. What's your favorite hobby? Probably ping pong. The more you play, the more fun it is.

9. What's your favorite past job? I did a lot of lawn mowing and yardwork for people. I worked outdoors (which I love), and I could work at my own pace.

10. If you had to pick a foreign country to travel to, what would it be? Why? Probably Israel. I've already been there once, but words cannot describe how much it makes the biblical stories come alive. It changed my entire perspective. And I love Jews.

11. What's your favorite dessert? Cookies and cream ice cream.

12. Why did you join yearbook? It looks good on the resume.....I mean! It was a new kind of writing that I was not familiar with. I wanted valuable experience in that field to better round out my abilities.

13. What is a weird or unknown fact about? I can generate the sound of a leaky faucet just by moving my lips.

14. What is your favorite part about yearbook?  The beautiful people I work with.

15. What is your favorite thing about the current book? It has been efficiently worked over with careful precision by every member of the staff before being submitted. No part of it was sloppily done.
