Make Me Pure Like Gold
Malachi 3:3 says “He will sit as a refiner and purifier of silver; he will purify the Levites and refine them like gold and silver”.
How cool is it that God cares enough for us to put us through trials to strengthen our relationship with Him. The past couple of months my prayer has been for God to sift me and refine me like gold. I want to reflect a Christ-like presentation. I want Him to weed through every area of my life and teach me things I could never teach myself. My life is His and I will live every day to glorify Him and represent Him the best that I can. The only way I can accomplish that is to let Him into every single area and go through my life with a fine tooth comb….and sift again, and go through with a fine tooth comb and repeat and repeat and repeat until He sees Himself more than He sees me.
In talking to a silversmith, he would say you have to place the silver in the hottest part of the fire in order to get the purest of silver. He would also say that you cannot leave the silver in the fire for too long or it will be destroyed. He would also add that he has to stay by the fire and watch the silver. He cannot leave it unattended. When asked how he knows when the silver is done being purified he would answer, “That’s easy, I can see my reflection in it.”
