Concert Choir Tour FA 2009

Concert Choir Tour Fall 2009, by Chanelle Arneson:
"Concert Choir started their tour on Saturday, October 17th at 7am. They drove about 10 hours in a charter bus to First Family Church in Eden Prairie, a suburb of Minneapolis, Minn. Alumnus Carmelita Guse and former Concert Choir member attends this church and planned all of our arrangements while the choir was there. They sang the next morning in the church’s Worship service where Carmelita joined the choir in several numbers. The students stayed with families of the church and were able to minister to the people in their homes as well as in their church service. After the church service, the choir was able to spend several hours at the Mall of America then drove 4 hours to Watertown, SD. They arrived in Watertown at Family Worship Center and connected with host families. The next morning, Monday, the choir sung in the local High School where current concert choir member Josiah Austin attended high school. What a great opportunity it was to sing and promote Evangel in a public school! That evening we led worship and sang a concert at Family Worship Center. What a wonderful night of ministry! The presence of the Lord was so evident! People were certainly touched by the Lord. The choir stayed one more night with their host families and traveled the next morning to Fairbury, NE where Concert Choir member Mary Lutze’s father is the pastor of Fairbury Foursquare Church. The choir performed that night in the church. That night was unique because three different churches came together that night and took students home with them. It was another good night of worship and excellence! The next morning the choir sang at Fairbury high school for the choir classes, and then the choir sang in two nursing homes. They did all of this before lunch! They then traveled to Grand Island Nebraska at Concert Choir member Chris Schaaf’s home church. The choir’s worship team opened the service and the choir had a great night of performance and worship! The next morning they traveled about eight hours back to Springfield just in time for dinner. So many memories and stories were created during those six days of touring. The choir became very close and created a strong ministry of singing and praises to God!"
